Phool Makhana | Version 2 😍

Another name for Lotus seeds called as fox nuts can Puffed up like pop corn 🍿 easy to munch on anytime, they are delicious, crispy and melts nicely. They’re so many varieties of recipes by using Phool Makhana or popped lotus seeds are available at any Indian store, easy to grab a pack and make this yummy 😋 healthy snack at home in 5 minutes.

Phool Makhana used to have during the fasting, it can be prepared as kheer, curry or snack. In this recipe, I used pink Himalayan salt if it’s not available to you, you can skip it and use regular salt.

Let’s start with Ingredients and follows Procedure

Ingredients:

  • Phool Makhana – 100 grams ( store bought)
  • Butter – 1/2 Tb sp
  • Cashew Nuts – 20 – chopped
  • Himalyan salt – 1/4 teaspoon
  • Frankie Masala Powder  ( 👈 click for recipe) – 1 teaspoon

Procedure:

  • Put a deep frying pan On medium heat
  • Add butter, let it melt then add chopped cashew nuts
  • Fry for one minute then add Phool Makhana, Combine well and add salt and Frankie Masala Powder
  • Mix well and stir continuously
  • Saute till the Makhana becomes crispy , it takes more 2-3 minutes and turn off heat
  • Leave the pan on stove for more crunchy Phool Makhana ( half minute or so. It’s optional)
  • As I have used cashew nuts, you can use peanuts as well 😍
  • Serve immediately or you can store in an airtight container to remain fresh
