Breakfast recipe: Sooji Uttapam: Instant
Servings: 6 Uttapam
Uttapam is medium thickness Indian pancakes toppings with vegetables which gives you crunchiness and extra zest to the uttapam and serve with any spicy chutney, I shared chutney links in below section.
This breakfast is easy to make on lazy mornings or you can make them when you are quick to go for work / when you have ample time go with instant uttapam so it won’t consume your precious time.

Instant Bread Uttapam 😊|| Breakfast Recipe
Coming to Recipe I mixed sooji and curd and set aside for 15 mins mean while I cut veggies for toppings so my time saved and served with peanut chutney.
Today I prepared instant Uttapam which is delicious and easy to make recipe with spices and toppings
Let’s start with ingredients and follows Procedure
Ingredients:
1 cup = 240 gms
- Sooji / Mumbai Rava – 1 cup
- Curd – 2 cups ( OR fresh Greek yogurt )
- Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
- Salt – 1 tsp
- Green chillies – 3 – Paste
- Ginger – 2 tb sp – paste
Toppings:
- Grated carrot – 1/2 cup
- Green Bell Pepper – 1/2 cup – finely chopped
- White Onion – 1 – medium – finely chopped
- Cilantro / coriander leaves – 1/2 cup – chopped
Procedure:
- In a mixing bowl add sooji and curd/ yogurt
- Mix well and set it aside for 15 mins
- Next add cumin seeds, green chillies paste, ginger paste and salt
- Add 60 ml water to make batter
- Heat tava over low to medium heat
- Add 1 ladle batter and spread in circular motion
- Uttapam should be medium thickness
- Add toppings, oil & press gently with spatula so that toppings set in uttapam
- Cover with lid upto 1/2 minute let it cook in steam
- Flip Uttapam, When uttapam turned into brown color
- Cook 1/2 min and Serve hot

Note:
- You can customize with different toppings on Uttapam
- Adjust spices according to taste
- If Batter is too thick add little amount of water to make batter consistency
