Paneer Biryani | One pot cooking 🀩

In India, On special occasions or at parties or on wedding day Biryani must include in the food list because it is a traditional dish following from many years. Biryani is famous in India with gives amazing taste, infused in aromatic Indian spices, combination of vegetables, whole Biryani spices & totally it’s flavourful with Basmati Rice ( long grain )🍚

Today, I’m sharing a super delicious, perfect for quick lunch box recipe ideas and instant one-pot cooking rice recipe is Paneer Biryani.

Paneer called as Indian Cottage Cheese which is extract from milk πŸ₯›Β has lots of good healthy benefits in it. It has all essential nine amino acids, nourishing and healthy when taken in right amounts. Earlier, I have shared few recipes of paneer in my food blog, links shared below you can checkout πŸ‘‡

Duration: 40 minutesΒ 


  • Basmati Rice – 1 cup – 160 grams – wash thrice and keep aside
  • Paneer – cubes – 100 grams
  • Cloves – 2
  • Cinnamon stick – 1 inch
  • Cardamom – 2
  • Star Anise – 1
  • Shajeera – 1 teaspoon
  • Bay πŸƒΒ leafΒ – 1
  • Ginger Garlic Paste – 1 teaspoon
  • White onion – 1/2 cup – chopped
  • Carrot – Β 1 – chopped
  • Beans – 10 – chopped
  • Cauliflower Florets – 10
  • Mint Paste – 1 Tb sp ( blend – mint, coriander,green chillies, ginger piece, salt, lemon juice)
  • Curd – 1/2 cup
  • Turmeric Powder – 1/4 teaspoon
  • Biryani masala powder – 1 teaspoon
  • Red chilly powder – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt – 1 teaspoon
  • Butter – 2 Tb sp
  • Water – 320 ml



  • Heat a heavy bottomed deep fry pan, add butter, shajeera, cloves, cinnamon stick, Cardamom, bay leaf, and fry 30 secs.
  • Then add in chopped paneer cubes, sautΓ© half minute. Next add onion, Carrot, beans and sautΓ© 2 minutes
  • Now, add ginger garlic paste and mint paste sautΓ© Β one minute and add chopped cauliflower florets , rest of the paneer cubes and sautΓ© 2 more minutes
  • Then goes in, salt,Β Biryani Masala Powder, red chilly powder, turmeric powder and curd. Combine well and cook 5 minutes
  • Next add rice and gently mix with spatula then let it set for one minute on medium heat
  • Now add water and mix well
  • Cover with lid and Bring to a boil for 10 minutes and then reduce heat and let it cook for more 10 minutes.( don’t lift the lid in this process because if the vapor goes out and the rice won’t cook completely)
  • Next open lid and gently mix and check the rice, and turn off heat and let it sit more 5 minutes
  • Serve with Raita or cucumber salad or potato chips πŸ˜‹
