Foxtail Millet/ Korrala Bisi Bele Bath | One pot cooking 😍

Foxtail Millet is a best substitute for healthy diet, contains high in protein, good dietary fiber and minerals. It’s an annual grass grown in India, Africa and China. It has been using from long time ago but now a days it become a super good healthy meal for the people who are willing to reduce weight or to avoid carbohydrates and health beneficials are available in this Millet.

We call foxtail Millet as β€˜ Korralu’ πŸ‘ˆ Millets are easily available in Indian grocery store or you can also buy through online. They’re five different types of essential millets, each Millet has their own vital role! you can make Idly, dosa, Pongal and many more delicious dishes with millets. I would like to Β share as many recipes as I can provide to you πŸ™‚ if you are fond of making recipes with Millets then today’s recipe is your best choice to make and add it in your to-do list.

As I said, Bisi Bele Bath with foxtail Millet it might be surprised to you but it’s very simple, easy to make, tasty and healthy . I prepared it in a quick process by one pot cooking I hope you all like it and do try healthy recipes ☺️

Let’s start with Ingredients and follows Procedure

Duration: 30 minutes + Soaking time

Ingredients: 1 cup = 160 gramsΒ 

  • Foxtail Millet – 80 gms – 1/2 cup
  • Pigeon peas / Kandi Pappu – 80 gms – 1/2 cup
  • Bisi Bele Bath Powder Β (πŸ‘ˆ click for recipe) – 2 Tb sp
  • Salt – 1 teaspoon
  • Turmeric Powder – 1/4 teaspoon
  • Double Beans – 80 gms – soaked 8 hours
  • Butter – 2 Tb sp
  • Cashew Nuts – 10
  • Green chillies – 2
  • Cumin seeds – 1 teaspoon
  • Curry leaves – 6
  • Carrot – 1 – chopped
  • Beans – 1 inch length – chopped
  • Diced potato – 1 cup
  • Onion – sliced
  • Tomato πŸ…Β – medium sized – 1 – chopped
  • Coriander leaves – 1/2 cup – chopped
  • Water – 4 cups – 640 ml

Procedure:

  • Firstly, add dal and foxtail Millet in a deep bowl . Add water and wash throughly upto 4 times and strain then add fresh water, soak for 30 minutes
  • On medium heated pressure cooker, add butter – Let it melt
  • Then add cumin seeds, curry leaves, green chillies, cashew nuts
  • Saute and add chopped veggies
  • Saute 5 minutes and then add chopped tomato, soaked double beans
  • After that, add salt, turmeric powder, Bisi Bele Bath Powder Β and mix well
  • Then add soaked dal and Millet, sauté  2 minutes Β finally add water and coriander leaves
  • Combine well, cover with lid and cook for 3 whistles
  • Turn off heat and let it become cool down and the pen cooker, then mix well and serve hot with your favorite boondi, raita /Β Cucumber πŸ₯’ Raita
