Sorakaya/ Lauki ka Halwa | Dessert with Bottle Gourd πŸ˜‹

Dessert : Sorakaya HalwaΒ 

A delicious, juicy and authentic Indian sweet recipe is bottle gourd dessert, simple to make with milk, ghee, dry fruits and sugar. Bottle Gourd is healthy, contains lots of water content and nutritions.

Let’s start with Ingredients and Procedure

Ingredients:

  • Bottle Gourd – 2 – medium sized – Peeled off and grated ( remove thick & hard seeds) – 1 kg
  • Milk – 1 liter
  • Ghee/ clarified butter – 5 Tb sp
  • Cashew Nuts – 20 – roughly chopped
  • Golden raisins – 1/4 cup
  • Sugar – 250 gms

Procedure:

  • First, Add 3 Tb sp ghee, cashew nuts, raisins and fry till golden brown then take out aside
  • In the same pan, add grated bottle gourd and sautΓ© for 30 minutes to evaporate moisture
  • Then add milk and 2 Tb sp ghee in it, mix well and sautΓ© more 30 minutes on medium heat
  • Next add sugar and cook more 10 minutes
  • Finally, add fried cashew and raisins combine well andΒ When the ghee oozes out , means it cooked well and turn off heat
