Rasam powder : South Indian recipe

Freshly homemade recipes are always refreshing, delicious and healthy. Rasam Powder is a spice mix made with peculiar ingredients which makes the recipe more Β pungent flavor and a must try South Indian recipe. It’s my mom’s recipe and I hope you all love it 😍

Let’s start with Ingredients and Procedure

Quantity : 170 gms (~ approx )

Duration: 10 minutes

Ingredients:

  • Curry leaves- fresh – 2 cups
  • Coriander seeds – 1 cup
  • Cumin seeds – 1 Tb sp
  • Pepper corns – Black – 1 Tb sp
  • Methi/ Fenugreek seeds – 1/2 Tb sp
  • Marati moggu / Kapok buds – 1 small piece
  • Stone flower/ Rati puvvu (herb) – 1 inch piece
  • Kashmiri Dry Red chillies – 25 ( you can also use regular dry Red chillies to make more spicy )
  • Cooking Oil – 1 Tb sp

Procedure:

  • Heat a nonstick pan over medium heat
  • Add oil, cumin seeds, coriander seeds, Fenugreek seeds, Pepper corns, Marathi moggu and stone flower
  • Saute a minute or so and add Kashmiri dry Red chillies and curry leaves
  • Saute few more minutes to make sure everything roasted evenly, probably it takes 5 minutes
  • Turn off heat and transfer roasted ingredients to a plate. Let it cool down
  • Add the roasted ingredients in a mixer grinder and make a coarse powder
  • Right now, each corner of my home is filled with fresh aromatic spice powder. It is Rasam Powder 😊
