Turmeric root chutney | Side Dish

Side Dish: Chutney Recipe 

Quantity : 240 ml 

Duration: 15 minutes 

It’s been long time I haven’t posted any chutney recipe, so today I prepared a new side dish which is made out of turmeric root 😮 . Actually, it’s a basic chutney recipe so easy to prepare and refreshing. Tryout this trending chutney easily combines well with any dosa, Idly Varieties or uttapam and also you can eat with rice and ghee.

Let’s start with ingredients and follows Procedure

Ingredients:

  • Turmeric roots – 2 pieces – peel off and chop
  • White onion – 1 small – roughly chopped
  • Tomato – 1 medium sized – diced
  • Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
  • Kasmiri Red chillies- 5
  • Salt – 1 tsp
  • Oil – 2 teaspoons
  • Fenugreek seeds – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Curry leaves – 5

Procedure:

  • In a skillet pan add oil, cumin seeds and Methi seeds over medium heat
  • Sauté 30 secs and add chopped turmeric root and red chillies
  • Sauté 2 minutes and add chopped onion
  • Saute more 2 minutes and add tomato 🍅 Let it become soft or cook 5 minutes
  • Turn off heat and let the mixture become cool
  • Add in mixer along with salt, ground it into smooth paste
  • If required add 80 ml water and blend smooth. Turmeric root chutney is ready to serve
  • Serve with IdlyDosaUttapam, piping hot rice 🍚 with a dollop of ghee 😋
