Spice powder recipe : Bisi Bele Bath Powder

One of the famous dish is Bisi Bele Bath Powder in Karnataka, India ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ. This powder is the main base to the recipe, it is so pungent and grounded roasted Indian spices, cinnamon stick, cloves and spicy red chillies ๐ŸŒถ . Letโ€™s start with Ingredients and follows Procedure

Quantity : 6 Tb spย 

Ingredients:

  • Chana dal/ Bengal gram – 2 Tb sp
  • Urad dal / Skinless Black Gram – 2 Tb sp
  • Dry Red chillies (Kashmiri ) – 10
  • Coriander seeds – 1 Tb sp
  • Cumin seeds – 1 Tb sp
  • Poppy seeds – 1 Tb sp
  • Dry coconut powder/ desiccated coconut powder ย – 1 1/2 Tb sp
  • Red chilly powder – 1 tsp
  • Cloves – 3
  • Cinnamon – 2 inch stick ( break into pieces )

Procedure:

  • Heat a skillet pan over medium heat
  • Add Chana dal & urad dal, dry roast them till they turn aromatic or turns light brown color
  • Take out onto a plate, then add cumin seeds, coriander seeds, Kashmiri dry Red chillies, cloves and cinnamon pieces
  • Dry roast them till they turn aromatic and transfer them in plate
  • Next add poppy seeds, desiccated coconut powder till they turn light golden brown ( fry these over low to medium heat)
  • Take out them in a plate and let them become cool down
  • Finally, add them in mixer grinder along with red chilly powder and make fine powder
