Side dish: Cucumber Pachadi 🥒 : South Indian Cuisine 👩🏻🍳

I’m glad to share my new invention on regular chutney which we prepare usually at home with cucumber we call it ‘Keera Dosakaya’ Pachadi. It contains protein, iron and fiber as well 🙂
Chutney’s are so authentic and common side dish in every South Indian lunch meal, it is combined with vegetable & lots of spices finally ends with fresh tempering on it.. aww what a taste it’s amazing one has to try to know the taste of South Indian Chutney 🙂
Today, I’m sharing fresh green cucumber 🥒 Pachadi & I hope you like it
Let Start with Ingredients and follows Procedure
Ingredients:
- Mini cucumber – 4 – 250 gms – diced
- Dry Roasted peanuts – 2 Tb sp
- White sesame seeds – 1 Tb sp
- Onion – 1 – small sized – chopped
- Green chillies – 5 – slits
- Salt – 1 1/2 tsp
- Curry leaves – 10
- Cumin seeds – 1/2 Tb sp
- Senagapappu / Bengal gram – 1/2 Tb sp
- Tamarind Paste – 1 tsp
- Oil – 1 1/2 Tb sp
For tempering:
- Mustard seeds: 1/4 tsp
- Dry Red chillies – 2
- Curry leaves – 4
- Hing / Asafoetida – 1/8 tsp
- Oil – 1/2 tsp
Procedure:
- Heat skillet pan over medium heat
- Add oil , cumin seeds, Bengal gram, curry leaves and green chillies
- Mix well & Saute 2 minutes
- Next Add chopped onion, sesame seeds and tamarind pulp
- Saute 2 more minutes and then add chopped cucumber
- Mix well & Saute 10 minutes
- Turn off heat and let it become cool
- Add everything in mixer grinder along with salt & dry roasted peanuts
- Blend coarsely and take out in a bowl
- In a tempering pan, add oil, mustard seeds, curry leaves, red chillies and hing
- Saute a minute and turn off heat
- Add tempering on cucumber 🥒 Pachadi
- Gently Mix & serve with piping hot rice and a dollop of ghee ( clarified butter)

Yes dear, even I like to eat raw. This one is half cooked and tasty as well with piping hot rice. I hope you could try someday 🙂👍 thank you
