In South India, there are many delicious and traditional recipes all you need to take pure Indian spices, lentils or peanuts or leafy vegetables, yes you can make gunpowder with any ingredient which is more irresistible and Serve it with any South Indian breakfast such as

and also goes well with hot cooked rice topping a dumpling of ghee ( butter ) then mix well and serve, enjoy the aroma of peanuts powder πŸ˜‹Β .Β It is a prior side dish in any South Indian breakfast recipes and it is authentic gunpowder or Podi.

Today, I prepared simplest and a change into your dishes by topping with peanuts powder on Dosa/ Idly…I enjoyed Pali Podi while making by the typical combination of garlic and dry roasted peanuts… I love this transformation & I hope you like it.

Let’s start with Ingredients and follows Procedure

Ingredients:

  • Dry roasted peanuts πŸ₯œΒ – 300 gms
  • Red chilly flakes – 1/2 tb sp
  • Red chilly powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Salt – 1 tsp
  • Jaggery powder – 1/2 tb sp
  • Tamarind pulp – 1 tsp
  • Garlic cloves – medium – 2 – chopped

Procedure:

  • In coffee blender, add all ingredients except peanuts
  • Blend till smooth paste
  • Next add peanuts in three batches and blend coarsely
  • Add grounded peanuts powder in a plate, mix well
  • Peanuts powder πŸ₯œ is ready to serve
  • Store in an airtight container to remain fresh

Note:

  • Adjust Spices according to taste
  • Instead of red chilly flakes you can also use dry Red chillies ( 4 )
  • Rub peanuts with hands to peel off skin and then use to blend ( this is optional )
  • If you would like more aroma in peanuts powder add dry roasted cumin and coriander powder
