Methi Thalipeeth πŸƒ| Fenugreek leaves Multi Grain 🌾 Pancake

Thalipeeth is a savory multi grain 🌾 pancake famous in western India. The pancake is prepared from five different grains they are legumes, Rice, Bajra, Jowar, Wheat into flour and spices. While making the pancake will add coriander, cumin, onion and other vegetables.

So today I prepared a healthy roti/ Thalipeeth/ Multi grain pancake. It can be serve with yogurt/ butter/ ghee/ onion with spices/ chutney

Let’s start with Ingredients and follows Procedure

Ingredients:

  • Fenugreek Leaves/ Methi – one big bowl/ 1 big bunch leaves πŸƒ
  • Bajra Flour – 100 gms ( Millet flour )
  • Wheat flour – 100 gms
  • Jowar flour – 100 gms ( Sorghum Flour )
  • Rice flour – 100 gms
  • Besan / Roasted Bengal gram flour – 100 gms
  • Onion – finely chopped – 80 gms (1/3 cup)
  • Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
  • Carom seeds – 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander – chopped – handful
  • Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Red chilly powder – 1 tsp
  • Salt – 1/2 tb sp
  • Green chillies – chopped – 2 tb sp
  • Oil/ Butter – to cook pancake
  • Water – as required

Procedure:

  • Add all ingredients in mixing bowl ( except leaves, oil and water )
  • Wash, chop and add fenugreek leaves
  • Mix well
  • Add water little by little and make soft and non sticky dough
  • Divide dough into equal parts and set aside
  • Heat tava on medium heat
  • Apply oil on butter paper, take one dough and press round shape and make a hole at center ( to cook evenly)
  • Flip the butter paper carefully on tava
  • Don’t remove butter paper immediately
  • Wait 30 secs and it comes out easily
  • Now Apply oil on Thalipeeth and cook sides equally till golden brown and brown spots occurs on other side
  • Serve Thalipeeth by brushing it with butter, cup of curd/ yogurt and onion

Note:

  • You can also make dough by atleast three different flours of your choice but make sure Bengal gram flour must be in it
  • While pressing pancake/ Thalipeeth take some water in a cup and dip fingers in it and tap dough so it won’t be sticky to hands and spreads easily on butter paper (repeat the process till it form Chapathi/ RotiΒ / phulka size pancake)
  • Cooking pancakes either it can be oil / butter
