Snack Recipe: Bread 🍞 Cutlets / Patties

In Indian cuisine, there are enumber of varieties in all states such as breakfast, lunch, snacks, sweets and dinner. All these contain many flavours and varies from one cuisine to other, we are proud to have Indian meal in our daily life’s πŸ™‚

Coming to today’s recipe, it’s a starter and easy snack as well and most of you like or love this potato bread 🍞 cutlets/ patties contains spices, ginger, green chillies, Capsicum & more next coated with Italian seasoning bread crumbs then shallow fried patties using butter, that’s it Hot and crispy Patties are ready to bite πŸ˜‹

Let’s start with Ingredients and follows Procedure

Ingredients:

  • Whole wheat bread 🍞 – 5 slices
  • Boiled potatoes – 5 – chopped
  • Onion – 1/2 cup – Finely chopped
  • Green Bell pepper / Capsicum – 1/2 – chopped
  • Salt – 1 tsp
  • Red chilly powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Aamchur/ Dry Mango powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin powder – 1 tsp
  • Butter – 1 stick – 113 gms
  • Bread crumbs – 150 gms
  • Corn flour – 2 tb sp

Green paste:

  • Green Chillies – 3
  • Mint leaves – 20
  • Ginger pieces – 2 tb sp
  • Garlic cloves – 3 – peeled off and chopped

Procedure:

Step 1: Cook potatoes

  • Wash potatoes and chop into half
  • Add 1/2 liter water and 1/2 tsp salt in pressure cooker
  • Add chopped potatoes and cook for 2 whistles
  • Let the pressure goes down
  • Remove lid and strainer water
  • Peel off potato skin and keep aside

Step 2: Green paste

  • Take Mixer grinder add all mentioned green paste ingredients
  • Blend till smooth paste
  • Keep it aside

Step 3: Bread 🍞 

  • Keep bread slices on chopping board
  • Remove edges using knife ( 4 sides )
  • Chop them into pieces

or

  • After removing edges , you can add chopped bread pieces in mixer
  • Blend them to make fine powder

Process of making Bread 🍞Cutlets:

  • Take a deep mixing bowl
  • Add chopped bread slices
  • Add all ingredients ( except butter and bread crumbs ☺️ )
  • Mix well till forms a soft dough ( Don’t add water )
  • Take small portion of dough and make round shaped patties ( as shown in picture )
  • Heat skillet pan over medium heat
  • Add butter ( let it melt )
  • Coat each cutlet with bread crumbs on both sides
  • Keep each cutlet in pan
  • Cook both sides till golden brown and crisp
  • Take out them on paper towel to remove excess butter
  • Serve hot as a starter/ parties/ Evening snack
  • Happy cooking and enjoy your day

Note:

  • I used Italian seasoning bread crumbs instead of it you can also use regular bread crumbs
  • Instead of using butter you can also use oil
  • I like to make patties in shallow fry, if you like to deep fry them you can go with it
  • Adjust spices according to taste
