Spring Onions Paratha: Breakfast/ Dinner

Paratha is a flatbread originated from North India ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ it is a special breakfast for Indians such as Punjabiโ€™s in Punjab and also in Gujarat simply I can say itโ€™s completely North Indian dish.

Now a days itโ€™s popular all over India and also serving in Indian restaurants and easy to prepare at home in ample time. There are many types of Parathaโ€™s which can be prepared with Wheat flour/ Atta/ Maida/ all purpose flour and veggies for stuffing.

It can also prepared with leafy vegetables such as Fenugreek leaves, spinach etc., and also combination of palak paneer, aloo paneer Paratha, Aloo Methi paratha like this wise you can make so many varieties of parathaโ€™s.

Mostly it is prepared at breakfast time, you should have parathaโ€™s when they are hot because it tastes delicious ๐Ÿ˜‹
Mainly, itโ€™s cooked with ghee/ butter/ cooking oil and serve with Raita/ curd and any kind of pickle (Indian pickles)

Today I prepared Paratha with spring onions with spices.

Nutrition facts:

Spring onions: Vitamins A & C,ย Minerals iron, calcium, potassium, magnesium, fiber & protein

Ajwain seeds:ย It contains only minerals such as protein, sodium and a dietary fiber with less cholesterol and good saturated fat.

Let’s start with ingredients and follows Procedure:

Ingredients:

  • Wheat Flour – 350 gms
  • Spring onions – 4 shallots – finely chopped
  • Red chilly powder – 1 tsp
  • Red chilly flakes – 1 tsp
  • Ajwain / carom seeds – 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
  • Salt – 1 tsp
  • Oil – 1 tb sp
  • Water – 150 ml
  • Ghee/ oil / Butter – 3 tb sp – to cook Paratha

Procedure:

  • In a mixing bowl and wheat flour, chopped spring onions, salt, Ajwain/ carom seeds, red chilly powder, red chilly flakes & turmeric powder
  • Mix well
  • Add water and make perfect non sticky dough
  • Close with lid
  • Rest for 15-20 mins
  • After 20 mins Add 1 spoon oil and knead
  • Divide dough into equal parts
  • Make round balls
  • Heat tawa over medium heat
  • Take a dough ball and dust some flour
  • Roll it towards upwards and downwards to make round shape
  • Put rolled spring Onion Paratha on tawa
  • Flip roti when bubbling started
  • Apply oil
  • Cook both sides equally by applying oil
  • Serve immediately with Gravy curry

Note:

  • Adjust spices according to taste
  • Double the quantity to increase the quantity of Paratha/ roti
  • To cook Paratha, Instead of oil You can also use butter / ghee
