Aloo Methi Paratha ๐Ÿ™‚ / Potato Fenugreek leaves Paratha || Indian Flat Bread|| Breakfast/ Dinner

Breakfast/ Dinner: Aloo Methi Parathaย

Paratha is a flatbread originated from North India ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ it is a special breakfast for Indians such as Punjabiโ€™s in Punjab and also in Gujarat simply I can say itโ€™s completely North Indian dish.

Now a days itโ€™s popular all over India and also serving in Indian restaurants and easy to prepare at home with ample time. There are many types of Parathaโ€™s which can be prepared with Wheat flour/ Atta/ Maida/ all purpose flour and veggies for stuffing.

It can be also prepared with leafy vegetables such as Fenugreek leaves, spinach etc., and also combination of palak paneer, aloo paneer Paratha, Aloo Methi paratha ย like this wise you can make so many varieties of parathaโ€™s.

Mostly it is prepared at breakfast time, you should have parathaโ€™s when they are hot because it tastes delicious ๐Ÿ˜‹
Mainly, itโ€™s cooked with ghee/ butter/ cooking oil and serve with Raita/ curd and any kind of pickle (Indian pickles)


Wheat flour – 320 gms

Salt – 1/2 tsp

Oil – 1 tb sp


Potatoes – Boiled & mashed – ย 200 gms

Methi / Fenugreek leaves – 1 bowl – 150 gms

Garam Masala Powder – 1/4 cup

Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp

Red chilly powder – 1 tsp

Coriander powder – 1 tsp

Coriander leaves – 1/4 cup

Butter – 1 tb sp


Prepare dough:

  • Take a mixing bowl
  • Add wheat flour, salt & oil
  • Crumble
  • Add water little by little
  • Knead 5 mins
  • Make a soft & non sticky dough
  • Cover the bowl either with wet cloth or plate
  • Rest 20 mins
  • Checkout making dough and chapathi process in below link
  • Chapathi/ Roti

Preparation of aloo methi stuffing:

  • Heat skillet pan over medium heat
  • Add butter, mashed potatoes, spices,salt & turmeric powder
  • Mix well
  • Saute 5 mins and add fenugreek leaves
  • Mix well & Saute 2 mins
  • Add chopped coriander leaves
  • Saute 1 min
  • Turn off burner/ cooktop
  • Let them become cool
  • Divide aloo Methi stuffing and make orange size balls
  • Keep them aside

Making Aloo Methi Paratha:

  • Prepare aloo methi stuffing balls & chapathi dough
  • Take a dough ball and roll it by using rolling pin
  • Place aloo Methi stuffing at center
  • And cover it with sides of dough
  • Gently press with hand at center
  • Roll it by dusting flour
  • Paratha should be medium thickness than chapathi
  • Heat tava add butter
  • Place aloo Methi Paratha on tava
  • Cook both sides by applying butter
  • Cook till golden brown dots
  • Serve hot with curd and pickle
  • Aloo Methi Paratha ๐Ÿ™‚ Is ready

  7. I really need to try this! I would use a vegan butter instead but I am LOVING the idea and how few ingredients it has!
