Pulao is a main dish usually prepared with rice and contains spices, vegetables, onion depending on cuisine.It can be prepared either with normal rice or basmati rice.

I cooked pulao with Basmati Rice you can also cook with normal rice which is crystal sona masoori rice brand or the other. In this Pulao main ingredient is mint which is a flavorful plant uses in many dishes which gives you perfect flavour and good aroma πŸƒ

Mainly, Pulao is mild spicy in taste & very delicious dish in India which can have either in lunch/ dinner and you can make this Pulao in less time

Nutrition facts:

Mint:Β Vitamins: A & C
Minerals : Iron

Onion:Β Vitamins: C & B6
Minerals: Iron, magnesium & potassium

Ghee:Β Fat & proteinΒ 

Cucumber:Β Vitamins: A & C.Β Minerals: Iron, magnesium & potassium

Garlic : Vitamin C

Ginger: Vitamin C , Minerals : Magnesium & potassium


Basmati Rice – 1 cup

Cumin seeds – 1 tsp

Clove – 1

Cinnamon – 1 small piece

Bayleaf – 1

Sliced onion – 1 medium – 1/2 cup

Cashew nuts – roasted with ghee – 10 to 15 pieces

Salt – 1 tsp

Ghee – 2 tb sp

Mint Paste:

Mint leaves – fresh – 1 bowl – 20 to 25 leaves

Ginger – 2 tb sp

Garlic – 3 cloves

Green chillies – 5

Cucumber Raita :

Fresh homemade yogurt/ Curd – 120 ml

Cucumber – mini – 1 – finely/ roughly chopped

Coriander leaves – chopped – 2 tb sp

Pepper – fine powder – 1/2 tsp

Salt – 1/4 tsp



Roasted Cashew nuts:

  • Heat skillet pan add 1/2 tsp ghee
  • Add cashew nuts & fry till golden brown color
  • Keep it aside

Mint Paste:

  • Add green chillies, garlic & ginger, mint in mixer grinder
  • Blend smooth paste by adding 2 tb sp water
  • Keep it aside


Cucumber Raita:

  • Add chopped Cucumber, salt , coriander, pepper & curd in a bowl
  • Mix well and add curd & chopped coriander leaves
  • Mix well and keep it aside


Mint Pulao Process:

  • Heat skillet pan over medium heat
  • Add ghee, clove, cinnamon, bay leaf , cumin seeds and sliced onion
  • Saute 5 mins, meanwhile wash Basmati Rice and drain water. Keep rice aside
  • Add grounded mint Paste & salt in pan
  • Add water and mix well
  • When water started boiling add few chopped mint leaves
  • Mix well & Add washed Basmati Rice
  • Gently Saute & close with lid
  • Cook 10 mins on simmer
  • Turnoff Cooktop
  • Add fried cashew nuts and mix gently
  • Mint Pulao cooked well
  • Serve it hot with cucumber πŸ₯’Β raita
  • Enjoy your day & Happy cooking πŸ˜€
