Murmura Chivda Mix 😋

Most of the people like to have snacks along with a cup of tea ☕️ if you’re searching for a easy homemade Murmura easy & tasty snack, here we go. Murmura Chivda Mix is the best Evening snack for everyone at home . It’s easy to make and can store for atleast one month.

Murmura means puffed rice produced from rice, you can make different recipes with puffed rice such as Bhel mix, Chivda, Breakfast, any snack etc.,

I prepared a homemade Masala powder which is aromatic and delicious 😋 I learned this recipe from my Mom. From childhood, I like to have them anytime in a day.

Nutrition facts:

Peanuts/ Ground nuts: It contains vitamin B6, Magnesium, protein, Potassium, calcium, iron & fiber

Split roasted Bengal gram: It contains iron, Potassium & protein

Garlic: It contains vitamin C

Kids will enjoy this definitely which has low fat & more tasty, have Murmura Chivda Mix with raw onion & lemon juice 👍😋

Today I prepared Murmura Chivda Mix which is loaded with spices, garlic and salt.

Let’s start with ingredients and follows Procedure


Puffed Rice/ Murmura – 200 gms

Roasted split Bengal Gram / pappulu – 120 gms

Raw ground nuts – 120 gms

Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp

Masala powder:

Clove – 1

Cinnamon – small piece

Dry red chillies – 2

Red chilly powder – 1 tb sp

Dry coconut powder/ desiccated coconut – 80 gms

Garlic cloves – 6

Cumin seeds – 1/2 tb sp

Coriander seeds – 1 tb sp

For Tempering:

Mustard seeds – 1 tsp

Jeera/ Cumin seeds – 1 tsp

Curry leaves – chopped – 1/2 cup

Oil – 120 ml



  • Heat a big skillet pan over medium heat
  • Dry roast clove, cinnamon, cumin seeds, coriander seeds & dry red chillies
  • When they turn aromatic and slight color changes to golden brown add dry coconut powder
  • Saute 1 min
  • Take out in a plate & Let it become cool
  • Blend altogether along with garlic cloves till smooth powder
  • Keep it aside
Step by step process of Masala Powder

Making murmura Chivda mix :

  • Next add oil, mustard seeds, split roasted Bengal gram, raw ground nuts
  • Saute 5 mins
  • When they are half done, Add red chilly powder, salt & turmeric powder
  • Mix well
  • Add grounded Masala Powder & chopped curry leaves
  • Mix well
  • Saute more 5 mins
  • Turn off Cooktop/ Burner
  • Let it become cool completely
  • Now, Add puffed rice/ murmura in it
  • Gently mix till incorporated with Masala
  • Murmura Chivda mix is ready
  • Serve it with onion & on top few drops of lemon juice 🍋
  • Enjoy your day & Happy cooking 😊
