Daddojnam is known as Curd/ Yogurt rice which is famous in India ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ

It is offered to God/ Godess in temples which is delicious and tasty. You can also prepare at home when you get bore of eating normal rice& dal.

Mainly this curd rice contains fresh homemade curd/ yogurt with tempering, hing, peppercorns/ crushed pepper powder and coriander leaves

Nutrition facts of Curd:

Vitamins : A, C , B6 & B 12

Minerals : Iron, calcium, sodium & magnesiumย 

It has good proteinย 

To make perfect daddojanam/ Curd rice follow below steps:

Note:

  1. Use fresh homemade curd/ yogurt
  2. Do not use sour curd/ yogurt
  3. Use freshly cooked rice for best results
  4. Do not mix curd in hot rice

Today, I prepared daddojanam to offer Godess Durga mata which is popular in Andhra Pradesh, India and also regular temple prasadam in temples.

Let’s start with ingredients and follows Procedure

Ingredients:

Cooked Rice – 1 bowl

Curd – 235ml

Milk – 120 ml

Oil – 1 tbsp

Salt – 1 tsp

Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp

Cumin seeds – 1 tsp

Urad Dal – 2 tsp

Bengal gram – 2 tsp

Curry leaves – chopped – 6

Green chillies – 2 – finely chopped

Hing/ Asafoetida – 1/4 tsp

Pepper powder – Coarse – 1/2 tsp ( You can also pepper corns)

Coriander / cilantro – chopped – 1/2 cup

Procedure:

  • Heat skillet pan on medium heat
  • Add 1 tbsp oil in pan
  • Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, Urad Dal and Bengal gram
  • Saute them & splutter
  • Add green chillies, curry leaves
  • Add hing, coarse pepper powder
  • Saute them
  • Swith off burner/ Cook top
  • Add this tempering on cooked rice
  • Add salt, milk and fresh curd on rice
  • Mix well
  • Add chopped coriander leaves
  • Mix well
  • Offer this daddojanam to Godess Durga Mata
  • You can serve it with mango pickle in lunch/ dinner
