Kadai Chole/ Chana Masala || Punjabi Style

North Indian Style Recipe: Chole Masala

Chana is a type of chickpea/Bean, mostly used in Asian countries. It’s easily available in grocery stores/ Indian stores.

Chole Bhatura is very famous and even green combination in Punjab, India . It’s breakfast recipe which is available in Indian restaurants.Bhatura is made up of maida (soft wheat)

It’s nutrition facts are zero cholesterol, vitamin B6, iron and magnesium

Today, I prepared chole masala with spices, onion, tomatoes and lemon juice.

Let’s start with Ingredients and follows Procedure

Pre-Preparation:

Soak Chana/Chole/Garbanzo Beans in water for 8 to 10 hours

Boil soaked Chana in pressure cooker by add sufficient water and salt to taste upto 8 whistles

Ingredients:

Boiled Chana/ Chole/Garbanzo beans – 1 bowl

Finely chopped onion – 1 bowl

Finely chopped tomatoes πŸ…Β – 1 bowl

Chopped coriander- 1 cup

Red chilly Powder – 1 tb sp

Dry Mango Powder – 1 tsp

Garam Masala – 1 tsp

Chole Masala – 1 tb sp

Coriander Powder – 1/2 tb sp

Turmeric Powder – 1/2 tsp

Salt – to taste

Butter – melted – 4 tb sp

Lemon juice – 1 tb sp

Procedure:

  • Heat pan on medium to high
  • Add Butter/ Ghee
  • Add Green chillies, ginger garlic paste and onion
  • Saute well and cook 1 min
  • Add chopped tomato & saute
  • Close with lid and cook 5 mins
  • Add spices and salt
  • Cook 2 mins by covering with lid
  • Saute and add Boiled Chana
  • Mix well and add 1 cup of water
  • Cook 3 mins by closing with lid
  • Add coriander leaves and lemon juice.
  • Give it a mix and cook 2 mins
  • Chole Masala is ready to serve
  • Famous combination is Bhatura πŸ˜‹
