Spl pulao : Lunch / Dinner Recipe

Pulao is a dish in which rice cooked with spices, vegetables, onion depending on the cuisine.It can be prepared either with normal rice or basmati rice.

I cooked pulao with Basmati rice which is long grain 🌾 to enhance the flavor and also added aloo – Gobi and Methi leaves.

Aloo Gobi is a great combination in Indian Recipes , you might also prepare curry, fry, Manchurian,pulao and Biryani.

Aloo – potato

Gobi – Cauliflower

Methi – Fenugreek leaves πŸƒ

Today, I cooked a spl pulao which is mild spicy, flavor of Methi and good to taste with raita

Let’s start with Ingredients and follows procedure


Basmati Rice – 1 cup

Aloo / potato – diced – 1 cup

Gobi/ Cauliflower – Chopped – 1 cup

Methi leaves – fresh – 1 cup

Cumin seeds/ Jeera – 1 teaspoon

Cloves – 2 to 3

Cinnamon – 2 small pieces

Cardamom – 1

Bayleaf – 1

Ginger-Garlic paste – 1/2 tb sp

Green chillies – 6, Mint leaves – 1/4 cup – paste

Mint leaves – 1/2 cup

Red chilly powder – 1/2 tb sp

Turmeric powder – 1/2 teaspoon

Oil – 2 tb sp

Salt – to taste


  • Wash Basmati rice twice , add water and keep aside
  • Soak 15 mins

1 cup rice – 1 and half cup water to this PulaoΒ 

  • Make green chillies+ mint leaves paste and keep aside
  • Heat frying pan on medium to high heat
  • Add oil , Jeera/cumin seeds let them fry add cloves, cinnamon, cardamom and biryani leaf in it
  • Saute for one minute
  • Add green chillies + mint leaves and ginger-garlic paste
  • Saute them andΒ Add chopped cauliflower
  • Close with lid and cook one minute
  • Add diced potato
  • Saute for 1 min and cook 2 mins
  • Next add red chilly powder, turmeric powder , mint leaves and salt
  • Mix them well and saute for one Min
  • Add 3 tb sp of water , sauteΒ them and Close with lid
  • Cook 2 mins
  • Next add chopped fenugreek leaves
  • Add soaked rice and mix gently
  • Add water and saute
  • Cook for 15 mins on low-medium heat and close with lid
  • After 15 mins check rice and it’s cooked well
  • Switch off cook top/ Burner and Keep it in steam for more 5 mins
  • Serve it with raita/ raw onion
  • It’s delicious πŸ˜‹Β enjoy your day
