Methi Paratha/ Fenugreek leaves Paratha || Punjabi Style

Paratha is a flatbread originated from North India ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณย .It’s a special breakfast for Punjabi’s in Punjab and also in Gujarat.

Now a days it’s popular all over India and also serving in Indian restaurants

There are many types of Paratha’s which can be prepared with Wheat flour/ Atta/ Maida and also veggies for stuffing

Mainly, it’s cooked with ghee/ butter/ cooking oil and serves with curd and any kind of pickle (Indian pickles)

Today I prepared a very simple and healthy nutritional breakfast, that’s Methi Paratha/ Fenugreek leaves Paratha in Punjabi Style ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Ingredients:

Wheat flour – 1 cup

Fenugreek leaves/ Methi leaves ๐Ÿƒ- 1 cup

Red chilli powder – 1/2 tb sp

Green chillies – 3 chopped

Ginger – 2 inch

Turmeric – 1 teaspoon

Butter – 1/2 tb sp ( melted )

Salt – 1 teaspoon

Procedure:

  • Add Chopped ginger and green chillies in mixer grinder. Blend smooth and keep it aside
  • Wash fenugreek/ Methi leaves twice and drain
  • Chop them and keep aside
  • In medium sized bowl add fenugreek, salt, red chilly powder, cumin/ Jeera, ginger- green chillies paste
  • Mix them well
  • Add wheat flour and mix well
  • Add water little by little in wheat flour ๐ŸŒพ
  • Make perfect non-sticky dough don’t add so much of water because already moisture present in methi/ fenugreek leaves
  • Rest the dough for 5 mins
  • Heat tava on medium to high
  • Take some amount of wheat flour to dust
  • Divide the dough into equal parts
  • Take one ball , dust with wheat flour And roll circle
  • Fold left and right sides at center and again first fold left and then right side
  • As shown in picture
  • Now again dust flour and roll the dough upwards and downwards
  • Make Paratha thicker than chapathi/ Roti’s
  • Take Paratha in hands and put on hot tava
  • Flip the Paratha when started bubbles on it
  • You can see brown dots and apply butter on it
  • Again flip the other side apply butter
  • Cook both sides nicely
  • Serve Methi Paratha hot with Raita/Curd and mango pickle
  • It’s yummy ๐Ÿ˜‹ย have it as Breakfast/ Dinner time
