Minapappu Garellu/ Urad Dal Vada/ Medu vada|| Krishna Janmashtami Spl


Urad Dal – 1 cup

Green chillies – 4

Allam/ Ginger – 1 teaspoon

Mint leaves – 4

Coriander – chopped- 3 tb sp

Salt – to taste

Baking soda – 1/8 teaspoon

Oil – To deep fry


  • Soak Urad Dal in water for 6 to 8 hours
  • Make corse paste in mixer grinder. Don’t add so much of water
  • Keep it aside
  • In small mixi jar add green chillies, Ginger and mint leaves
  • Blend smooth
  • Take out this paste and add in Urad Dal Dough
  • Add salt, chopped coriander and baking soda in dough
  • Heat oil to deep fry
  • Drop little amount of dough in oil to check oil heat
  • Make Vada on butter paper/ plastic paper or with hand directly
  • Take lemon size dough in hand and press round shape and put hole at center, same as donut πŸ˜€
  • Drop it carefully in oil
  • Cook both sides well till color changes to golden brown
  • Take out Vada’s in paper towel to absorb oil
  • Serve it with mint chutney/ coconut chutney/ samabar/ Rasam as a Evening snack/ festival time ☺️
