Spinach-peas Gravy / Palak Mutter Creamy Kadai


Spinach/ Palak – 1 bowl

Soaked cashew nuts – 10 to 15

Green peas / Mutter (frozen) – 1/2 cup

Green chillies + Coriander +mint leaves paste – 3 tb sp

Butter/ Oil – 2 tb sp

Cumin seeds / Jeera – 1 teaspoon

Ginger-Garlic paste – 1 teaspoon

Asafotida/ hing/ inguva – 1/4 teaspoon

Turmeric powder – 1/4 teaspoon

Red chilli powder/ paprika – 1/2 teaspoon

Cumin / Jeera powder – 1/2 teaspoon

Coriander powder – 1/2 teaspoon

Garam Masala – 1/2 teaspoon

Salt – as per taste


  • Blanch Palak/ SpinachΒ 
  • In a medium sized pot of water to a boil over high heat
  • Wash spinach leaves
  • Put the spinach leaves in the boiling water, and allow them to boil for 30 seconds to 1 minute until you see a bright green color.
  • Take out them & transfer in cold water bowl
  • Transfer into mixer grinder make smooth paste. Keep aside
  • Add butter/ oil in medium heated pan
  • Add jeera , Ginger-Garlic paste and mixed chilli paste( green chillies,mint and coriander)
  • Saute 1 min
  • Add Mutter/ Green peas saute for one min
  • Add spices turmeric,asafotida,salt,red chilly powder,cumin powder, coriander powder and garam MasalaΒ 
  • Saute one min
  • Add spinach water leftover paste in mixer grinder. Mix well
  • Add spinach paste and water
  • Let it boil and stir occasionally
  • Make cashew paste
  • When gravy boiling add cashew nuts paste
  • Mix it well and boil for one min
  • Transfer Spinach Peas Gravy/ Palak Mutter Creamy Kadai in serving bowl/Kadai
  • Spread cream/ Cashew nuts paste on toppings of Gravy
  • Serve it with Naan/ Kulcha/Chapathi/ RotiπŸ˜€πŸ˜‹
