Red Chilly Onion Chutney/ Erra karam Chutney


Dry Red chillies – 4 (soak 6 hours)

Two medium sized Onion – chopped – one bowl

Red chilli powder – 1/2 sp

Jaggery powder – 1/2 tb sp

Tamarind paste – 1 tb sp

Salt – as per taste


  • Add soaked dry Red chillies, jaggery powder, tamarind paste, red chili powder and salt in mixer grinder blend it till smooth paste
  • Next add chopped onion in it. Blend till smooth paste
  • Transfer red chilly onion chutney/ Erra karam into a bowl
  • Serve it with Dosa/ Idly
  • South Indian special Karam Dosa/ Erra karam Dosa
