Wheat flour – 1 cup

Semolina/ Sooji/ Mumbai Rava – 3 tb sp

Salt – 1/2 tea spoon

Water – As required

Oil – To Deep fry


  • In a big bowl add wheat flour, Semolina/ Sooji/ Mumbai Rava and salt mix it well then add water little by little
  • Mix the dough and knead it for one to two minutes
    Dough should be elastic and non sticky
  • Rest it 20 mins by covering the dough with wet cloth or lid
  • So that the poori will be soft and smooth
  • Now take out the dough and knead again
  • Divide the dough into 8 to 10 equal parts or u can make less to make bigger ones
  • Make round balls and add wheat flour for dusting
  • First take one of it and Roll medium thickness of poori by moving the rolling pin upwards, downwards and edges
  • Take deep fry pan add oil in it on medium to high heat
  • when oil is hot drop one poori in it and pour oil or press it by ladle so that the poori will puff up
  • Flip it and let it fry till golden brown color
  • Dont overheat the oil
  • Serve it withΒ Potato Masala/ Aloo MasalaΒ andΒ Coriander Coconut Chutney / Kothimeera Kobbari Chutney
